Un peu d’histoire

Après l’arrivée de Christophe Colomb en Amérique, il remarqua que de nombreux autochtones avaient l’habitude d’utiliser des hamacs dans leur vie quotidienne. Lorsqu’il retourna en Europe, il en importa de nombreux, les popularisant ainsi dans le Vieux Monde.

En fait, les premiers à les adopter (en nombre) furent les marins britanniques et espagnols, qui les utilisaient pour dormir à bord des navires. Les hamacs étaient appréciés pour leur fraîcheur et leur confort, mais ce qui les rendait vraiment uniques, c’était leur capacité à se balancer doucement au rythme des mouvements du navire, évitant ainsi les chutes. « On ne peut pas acheter de l’amour mais on peut acheter quelque chose fait main »

Unique model
San Jacinto is a Zenú indigenous heritage town where the tradition of hand weaving hammocks is maintained.
The artisans of this region use the vertical loom to weave. The technique that characterizes them is palletization, a process that requires a lot of effort because it combs the threads so that the fabric is tight and without holes.

Nowadays, paying attention to the origin is no longer a guarantee of quality, since even in Latin America, Latin hammocks can be produced directly in factories. For lack of being able to touch and test the quality, fortunately, the artisanal Hammocks are recognizable at first glance, even in photos, for those who take the time to look carefully.

Good to know

Washing
They can be washed in two ways, by hand or in a washing machine. Due to its weight, we recommend washing them in the washing machine on delicate mode. You should not wash your Hammock with vanish or bleach, as these products are very aggressive and can damage your Hammock.

1. Tie a knot for each head or rope of the hammock.
2. Wrap the hammock so that the bangs are facing inwards.
3. Using a rope, tie the worm hammock.
4. Leave your hammock for a wash cycle.
5. Rinse thoroughly with water and plenty of fabric softener.
6. Remove the ropes and knots in the heads.
7. Dry in the sun.

Fixation
We advise you to fix your hammock with our Colombian ropes. You can hang your hammock on trees, poles or beams. You can also use our fixing kit to fix them to walls.

Installation
To be comfortable in your Hammock you must have a good installation, because it should not be too high or too low to drag on the ground. You should keep in mind that when you hang it, there should be a banana curve, a height of 1.80 or 2 meters high with a distance of 3.50 or 4 meters.
If your space is very large, you can use our long ropes and adjust the hammock to your liking.
